Served blind from mag. Darker colour than the 04 ruinart rose it was paired with. Slightly stinky, reduced nose. Biting acidic mousse. Compact. Very slowly opening. Some confusion with the somm about which was which in this flight but I’m 100% convinced this was the dp! Not a great showing for such an august wine in mag format.

Initially prominent toast, smoke, sweet spices, gilled nuts, hawthorn notes, sharp and linear. With time and warmth it gained weight and complexity - creamier, expressed more plummy and dried red fruits, sencha, English tea, savoury minerality. All well confined in the pure, lingering finish

This bottle was open for business though still relatively youthful. Concentrated, rich and powerful red berries with some nice floral nuances.

2 small pours. Awesome. Full on the palate. Delicious with a lot of weight. Steps above the ‘06 LGD Rose. Super good.
