  • Flawed nose with hints of volatile acidity. It’s a flaw because it takes away from one of the best things about Nebbiolo, the aromas. This is better than many an entry level Barolo to be sure and has the stuffing to age 10+ years. I’m conflicted on how I feel about this. At $26 it’s probably a value but it’s a stay at home wine - I wouldn’t bring it to dinner because of the VA.

  • TTTG Italy (Coventry, CT): The wine changed quite a bit over 24 hours. On open, the nose seemed a bit lifted with a bit of VA, and the wine showed quite light and youthful, with a slight spritz. Initially, it seemed not very exciting. Three hours, later, the very pronounced nose exhibited a lot of sweet, exotic spices. With more hours of air, the sweet spices subsided, the wine became richer, leaving a more yummy, dark-fruited wine, but the VA becomes more prevalent. In sum, boring on open, one-noted spice after a few days, but more yummy the next day.
