Drank this 1993 in 2020..... Remarkable resilience for a Shiraz not slated for extensive aging! The bouquet was a light waft of forrest fruits and not unsurprisingly had very little fresh fruit on the nose. However The palate was still full and strong and a predominant sour cherry taste. Mid length and most enjoyable..... well done Penfolds

Same bottle as last note which had been Coravined. Presented beautifully again - perhaps more smooth and integrated and thus a small tick up in score. I let it breath longer this time. The colour appears to have more red brown brick colour to it. Lovely dark and red fruits with everything in balance and a little spicy, tarry or cedary complexity.

Found this in a corner of my cellar and must say Penfolds delivers again. Simply a nicely evolved red. Colour still deep and dark with a cherry red and brown edging virtually imperceptible still. Good fruit upfront then smooth, leathery aged red with a little cough mixture tinge. Lovely balance and poise - even some liveliness still. A treat.

Still a mid/dark brick red. A meaty, dark chocolate nose. There are spicy peppery flavours on the palate, with tannins very soft, and some acid apparent. Medium-length finish, somewhat one-dimensional, of fading fruits. Not a keeper, but acceptable.

Big, but emerged into smooth and fine after an hour or so. It is very good indeed for a year likes 93.
