Purchased at winery tasting room in January while on a trip to SF, off of the back vintage reserve list. Everything about this is so balanced and good that it almost is hard to believe that it’s 7 years old. Gave it some air. Nose: Corey- cherry starburst in suntan oil. Jared- blackberry and early grey tea Palette: first off, tannins are justttt right. Whiffs of vanilla wafer. Punchy but relaxed mouthfeel? It has hints of that cherry Vanilla Coke thing but not in the annoying California Pinot noir way. Very very good stuff.

Slightly more funk than I’m used to and the Forrest floor and herbal notes are now overshadowing the moderate red fruit flavors. I would probably not hold this one too much longer- recommend decanting for at least 30 min prior

Hour and a half decant, the nose is bright rasbperry, cherry and herbs. The palate is light on tannins and more on the acidic side but nothing over the top. More raspberry, light forest floor and herbs make this a pleasant, easy drink. Medium bodied with a shorter finish.
91/92. Less ethereal, more Rhone-ey, than I remembered. Tonight it seemed classic, and I really would have mistaken it for a French wine -- an all-Cinsault, or a delicately done Grenache, or something. Wet rock and medium raspberry fruit. Lively if not quite nervy/tongue-tingling acidity (as I'd remembered from last time).
