I think my last bottle, and this is drinking well, albeit differently than my bottle/note from last month. A very lengthy finish here that I am still tasting as I type this note. You know, for all the grief Bea gets for elevated bottle variation in his wines, which I have experienced, I can't recall having a flawed bottle, so to me the variation is more about different degrees of interesting.

Wow, a lot going on with the nose here - there is a rustic earthiness, with some smoked meat notes, then black & red fruit filling in the background.
Lively acidity on the palate, with an acerbic note on the finish. More interesting than delicious, and a wine that is likely to provoke some discussion at a tasting.

I thought this was terrific. It came out swinging and didn't really let up until the bottle was empty. A winning combination of soil and vibrant fruit, with balsamic glazed herb notes, and a focused and equally vibrant med>full-bodied palate. Great length, avg+ structure, avg+ complexity. Outstanding food wine. Drink now or in 5-7 years, you win either way. highly recommended
Served non-blind, PnP.

Earthy and tannic in that particularly Umbrian fashion. Good to go on opening, the nose really shines with this wine. As the bottle warmed up over a couple of hours, the palate fell of a step, but was still lovely. Served with BBQ and fried chicken. Thanks, wine-strategies!

Dark garnet, not overly complex, dark berry, cassis, good balance.
