  • Celebrating my team officially hitting our 2022 revenue goal so I wanted to open something fun, and a birth-year Bordeaux felt right. As you can see from the cork pics, someone took very good care of this wine before I purchased it at auction. From the pnp you could tell that we were in business, but after just a little bit of air, this wine was singing! Just a beautiful mix of red cherries, iron, graphite, and a hint of tobacco. Medium bodied with plenty of acidity and some light tannins on the finish. This was absolutely delicious and way over-exceeded expectations. Life is good!

  • (From memory from last night.) On first opening, nose and palate were pretty one-dimensional - just classic old Bordeaux. Transformed with food (navarin of lamb) - still, very developed, but now a more obvious core of fruit. Length okay. Past its peak, but still pleasant to drink - as long as you've got something to eat with it - just don't wait too much longer.

  • Dodgy looking bottle bought cheaply at an auction ended up as something of a revelation. Lovely plumpness of fruit, tertiary characters and definition. Past it's best but not fading too quickly.
