I never had this Chianti before, so I have no base line. It is drinking okay. However, the zingy acidity of a Chianti has dissipated. The fruit is a little toned down as well. It is likely past its best days. Drink now.

Second of twelve. Herbal nose, thin at opening, oak present and does not feel integrated; benefitted from a 2+ hour decant—the finish lengthened significantly—but on the whole the wine feels soft. I think this will be fine for a few more years (Italian wines always have a way of being more durable than expected imo) but I don’t think it has the stuffing to go longer and get better. In any event, better with decanting and a fine pizza/pasta/weeknight wine.

Forgot to take notes and drank this a while ago. But I recall that it was drinking well, even if still a bit tannic.
