I was hoping for a more interesting wine from a Sonoma Coast single-vineyard but this was pretty average flavor-wise and below average QPR. Nose of dried cherries and, as another Cellartracker noted, a “dusty” component. It actually reminded me of “Rutherford Dust” especially considering the strong tannins in this wine. Unimpressive and a disappointment compared to the 2012 Kite’s Rest.

Perfectly drinkable, anonymous Pinot Noir. Has varietal character, well made in the richer style characteristic of Black Kite. Nothing special or specific to it, a vineyard designate where the vineyard shows no personality. Drinking nicely now, probably has another 2-3 years.

First taste is sweet then opens up to strawberries and cherries. Starts simple then evolves nicely.

Enjoyable nose of dark fruit and earth, almost dusty character. Nice fruit though nothing exciting. Nice long finish.
