A good match to lots of Korean Hanwoo beef at Born and Bred Speakeasy. Drinking well, showing some tertiary flavours but the fruit is still there and lively. 4

Decanted. Comprised of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for two years in French oak before further time in bottle. Aromas come with notes of bruised red apple, slightly dried cherry, stewed plum, and goji scents that come with notes of herbs, wormwood, sous bois, turned earth, spent coals and hints of tobacco, pepper and aged meats. The palate shows a more brooding style for this vintage. Ripe tannins are well integrated into the wine that has juicy acidity and above moderate abv. Flavors translate from the nose with slightly dried cherry, bruised apple, stewed plum, wild blackberry, tobacco, herbs, tea, earth, smoke, pepper and game meats. The finish lingers with intensity. This muscular wine still has some years of flexing left in it.

Magnum. Am Vorabend geöffnet und kurz verkostet. Eine tolle Nase, rotbeerig, schokoladig, würzig. Am Gaumen druckvoll und explosiv, wieder rotbeerig, Kaffee & Schokonoten, auch etwas Tabak. Ein toller Sangiovese in erster Reife.
