Rich currant, dark berry, coffee, mineral, some torrefaction, but cool, clean and really focused. Minty, ripe palate that verges on blueberry, quite succulent but still very structured. Pretty suave wine, reminds me of Beringer Private Reserve, a nice surprise, drinking really well.
Opened by Allred. Decanted for 45 minutes. Part of a 5 bottle vertical. Blackish red color. Needs the most time out of the 5 bottles. Some alcohol and heat in this wine. Notes of spices and cassis. My least favorite of the group. 89-90 points.
Decanted forty five minutes before dinner. Aromas of black fruits and cherry, herbs and loamy earth. Has a subtle licorice undertone. Balanced but has some tannin to shed. Black fruit, berries, mint and dried herb flavors. Some oak/wood on the lengthy finish. Give this a few years yet; drink from 2018+.
