  • High acidity, good fruit. This is definitly something that you need to start eliminating from the collection. Once the fruit is gone the acidity will be unbearable. Enjoy now!

  • corked. Added to the composite bin. Hopefully it will not harm the beneficial organisms

  • Aged, lighter, integrated, easy to quaff and good with food, however it seems less than it probably was at one time. Layered bouquet, a bit of green notes from varietals etc, usual leather, light game, chalky earth. Seems a little less hefty than Right Bank wines, but that is probably consistent with Left Bank blends. Softer, some fruit still, cherry-currant. Even today, it tastes fresh enough from a zip of acidity that makes it work. I'd buy again, but do not hold. If you like aged Right Bank wines, you should like this just fine.

  • It is great when the last bottle is the best. (Or, at least excellent).
Maybe I am nostalgic for the end of the vintage, but this was terrific.
Red fruit, cherries, currant and notes of tobacco and herbs. Lovely perfume that went on and on, in the glass.
Not as tannic as prior bottles, but oh so showy. And great value ($30 paid at the market top; $15-20 on release. $26 on sale)
This drank younger than our past bottle -- but I would still drink up, in 2010 or 2011.

This is our house Bordeaux. Onto the 2000 vintage ...

  • Beautiful perfume, red fruit, mineral and earth. Mature but still drinking well. A great find for a humble wine. Excellent with our slow-cooked duck
