Maturing into a distinctive, memorable wine. Savory notes of tobacco, chocolate, mint, and green pepper are emerging and integrating nicely. Still good acidity, rich tannins, and a lovely 'funk' to this wine. Should be best 2023-2030.

Decanted for 2 hours. Opened beautifully. Standard Smith Madrone cab. Elegant, delicious, moderate tannin. Black fruits with a bit of peppery touch. Drinking well and probably has a window of at least 10 more years

Opened and decanted nearly 3 hours. Served with beef tenderloin, Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed for Christmas Eve dinner. Just an excellent example of Smith Madrone wines. Opens beautifully after a decant and almost perfect balance of tannin, fruit, acidity, mineral, terroir - virtually everything I want and hope for in a Cab. Have 2 more bottles that I will drink over the next several years. Best QPR for a Napa Cab that I can think of.

This isn’t what most think of for Napa, but it is a complex wine with excellent depth and nuance. Black current, pyrazine, tart raspberry, tobacco, and graphite.
