I am a big fan of GSMs and this library collection from McPrice Myers didn’t disappoint. Slightly pricey but oh my what a wine! Deep burgundy color, full flavor, smooth on tannins and unbelievably drinkable. Absolutely fell in love with this full, bold flavor.

W lamb ribs after Mystic horse show. Very nice GSM. Great dark color and dark nose. On palate this was a bit tannic at first (despite 1 hr decant) but softened nicely. Great fruit and spice, the 15.6% alcohol didnt really show. Good length. This is good!!! And will live another 5+ years.

Loved this two years ago and now it has some mature complexity starting to show as well. The earth and minerality keeps it from being just a blackberry smoothie, but all the seductive young fruit elements are still in abundant supply. As many McP-M wines as I've had, I have no knowledge with regards to their age-ability. However, this one seems to have the genes for a nice 8-12 year drinking window. A gorgeous Paso Robles tribute to Rhone. G/40%, S/40%, M/20%. 5+12+17+8= 92

A lot of Wines at Tommy's Clambake (again again) (Tommy's): Very interesting. Seems like a GSM blend but there is something else in there. Maybe some ripe Pinot? Not really sure, but it works very well. There is some black raspberries and pepper and then this slightly sour cherry thing over the top and seems to be driving the acidity. In any event, drinking well right now and very tasty.

Red cherry and raspberry ganache, long finish, silky dry tannins, medium-full body.
