Online Blind Tasting #9: Broadening your wine horizon: *** Note is based on 0,1l bottles filled about 2 days before the tasting from 0,75l bottle and 0,1l two days after the tasting *** Glass: Zalto Universal Clear, deep golden color. Clean, medium intense, developing and rather freaky nose. Some floral notes, herbaceous, a bit waxy. Dry, medium acidity. High alcohol (15,5% abv) that is quite well integrated if drunk between 10-12 degrees. High tannin. It makes the wine full bodied and gives it a sweetness and just a tiny bit of hotness at the finish. Very freaky and funky wine. Certainly bold and massive, but not simple or one-dimensional. Very mineral, waxy and spicy. Not as perfumed and floral as other high-end Viognier like La Doriane. When it gets warmer it gets hot and soapy. Deep and dense. Good grip and a nice texture. Way better two days after the tasting with some air. Should go well with food. Potential for at least 5+ years. This is a pretty unique wine, that should not be compared with more energetic grape varieties like Riesling or Chardonnay. You either love it or hate it. 92-93

Last bottle, unfortunately. The color was almost amber, or more like warm golden honey. Nose: honey, cooked apples, white flowers even. The palate was smooth and full with a finish like a Marsala. Simply lovely and memorable.

Really pretty wine with viognier notes and more body. Waxy texture and a little warmth and a briny, floral thing happening. Very unique and enjoyable wine.
