Seriously concentrated and brooding wine while maintaining freshness and not being over extracted. The oak is center stage here, but not in a particularly brute force way; at 13%, there is fruit and acidity to match.
The product of some seriously impressive vine genetics. Will wait a few more years before my other bottles. Not sure I can think of a more impressive village wine at this price point.

Wow this is dense stuff; I haven't drank a lot of Dugat-Py in my time, but this is a vaunted domaine so I like to try some when I can. This is now 10 years old and if you served it to me blind I'd guess it was a 2020. Dark purple in color; initially the aromatics show dark fruits with a tinge of wood spice, some violet; big, extracted and tannic on the palate; with air the nose opens to show some lovely sauvage, plum, blackberry, earth, and violet. The palate settles in a bit, but remains large scaled and very structured. I served this with a ribeye for reference. I think this is good stuff and in another decade may be ready, but this is big Burgundy. Not exactly my personal preference stylistically, but I can see the pleasure and promise. This is the Burgundy you want to serve your cab loving friends. I'll try to hold my other bottle for at least 5 if not more years and see where we are.

A bit more forward fruit than the 2012. Lots of grippy tannins but stays vibrant with loads of cherry fruit, earthy and savory spices and cedar. A baby, of course, but very pretty.

Classically made with dark and green fruit, lightly baked, really concentrated, good length. 91-92
