  • No formal note as I had this for Thanksgiving dinner, and while not showing any unexpected oxidative character, the wine seemed tired and with very little junk left in its trunk. This was my only bottle so I can't say if this was just off, or if the wine's best days are behind it.

  • Tasted at the winery. Previously tasted 27 months ago from bottle and this wine has continued to evolve along the lines I'd anticipated. Hugely aromatic nose with lots of tropical notes and floral qualities. Medium bodied with mainly rounded and open white peach upfront, gaining depth through the middle with yellow peach and a variety of tropical notes. There's enough acidity left as well as tart qualities to provide support, but not quite enough to lend real definition to the fruit. As a result, the fruit is rounded, open and very pretty, but not as defined and therefore, not quite as complex. That said, the fruit itself remains in a great spot and that element should remain rewarding over the next 1-2 years.

  • This vintage is drinking really well now. Utterly delicious!

  • Prior bottle was a bit over 19 months ago and the wine continues to show well. Peach and pear along with pineapple notes on the nose. Medium bodied with a combination of white peach and more tart pear upfront, broadening through the middle with peach, pineapple and other tropical notes behind. There's good acidity on the backside that along with plenty of tart, white orchard fruit as well as citrus notes, keeps the mid-body fruit in balance. Doesn't have quite the density of some of the better vintages, but the combination of richer fruit with the more tart qualities along with the acidity made for a very complete wine. Especially when on the cooler side, the contrast between those flavors lent solid definition to the overall fruit profile. Continues to hold up well and should have another 2-3 years at this level.

  • Prior bottle was 27 months ago (September 2016) and this wine is showing quite well now. More orchard fruit on the nose now (apple and pear), coupled with tropical notes in the background. Medium bodied (12.5% ABV) with apple and pear upfront, taking on more density and richness through the middle with a combination of peach and pineapple. Backside has just enough tartness (especially citrus and orange) for contrast, but the seamlessness it adds to the bridge from the mid-body to the finish was even better. Overall, this wine has density, impressive fruit, good complexity and a very balanced backside/finish. Showing quite well at present and seems at peak, but with the elements to maintain this level for a few years. With one bottle left, I will save it for November 2019.
