Out of the 800+ bottles I've kept over the past ten years, this ranks in the top ten of best values in terms of best values. Just simply stored on a shelf in the basement - not even in the cellar climate-controlled coolers. 92. High-end in terms of residual sweetness, so sweet without being overly sweet. Very nice depth of very good flavour. Touch of vinegar, but nothing that detracting. Nice ripeness of terrifically good fruit. Not much in terms of aroma, though. Just a mellow nicely dark red fruity aroma - no way to tell what's about to happen. Maybe a bit, but only a tiny bit, left too long before opening, so there's just a bit of open-can-of-soda-left-in-the-fridge-for-3-days flatness to it - and I'm not really complaining about that at all. It's still really good. Tannins are still present and nicely moderately medium-low and very good. It's definitely new world style, if that wasn't apparent. As always, wish I had bought more. I will be taking notice of "Family Reserve" Santa Carolina in the future.

Wonderful with dark plum fruit and earth. Medium finish. Bought 8 from Marlton's Bottlestop (in NJ) last week with free shipping. Well worth $18 a bottle.

A nose of dark fruits and spices, dark garnet in color. A full bodied Cab, with blackberry, plum, tea, with vanilla spiced finish, good was better last year. www.winelx.com

Very deep and complex. We couldn't decide if we truly loved it or not... needed to drink it very slowly.

Dark cherry, powerful nose. Inky flavour of plum and earth with a pine. Strong and more spur than sweet: it needs strong food with it.
