Chilled in fridge for just over 30 mins. Break-down of rating after notes The wine looks garnet colored with fast legs and no sediment. It smells like plum and clove or allspice or something similar, can't quite tell, and tastes fruity - like plum and similar and also cedar and mineral. The body is medium/full with a satin-like texture; finishes medium and has medium acidity. Had some astringency/tartness - wondering if either decanting or resting for a year or so would help. base(50) 50 color(5) 3 aromoa/bouquet(15) 13 flavor/finish(20) 15 potential/aging(10) 6 TOTAL 87

Not bad, but not as good as previous vintages. Always on the lookout for those 2012 cabs that offer good value for the money. This has hints of nice fruit, but does not quite offer the same depth that the 2012 Joel Gott 815 did, which, so far, is one of my "everyday drinker" favs of the 2012 vintage.

For both a grape that is not my favorite and a value wine, this is pretty darn tasty and approachable. One of the best values out there in a California Cab. Definite cherry, cassis, green pepper and possibly currant on the palate. Fruit forward without being jammy or overly sweet. Moderate mouthfeel. Decent finish- as in, there is one, which at this price point is something. Somewhat tannic but not overly so. This one screams balance- a great easy-drinking value from our friends out west. Drinks like Cab Sauv 101. Good intro to the grape- Califonia style.
