Medium depth ruby, nose of earthy aromas, duff, anise, with a sweet quality that translates onto the palate. Structure is moderately firm, tannins coat and acids strip. Flavors are savory and freshly vibrant.

Day 1: This was very closed with a hint of white pepper on the nose. On the palate this was rather thin, astringent and finished with some sour acidity. There was nothing wrong with this bottle, but we corked this back up and put it back in the fridge in the hope that it would be more expressive (and maybe put on some weight). In the interest of full disclosure, we opened this bottle after finishing a glass of a Fidelitas Bordeaux Blend, which was significantly bigger, so that probably contributed to the perceived thinness.
Days 2-4: This was MUCH better on Day 2. This either gained weight, or our perspective was better. More expressive on the nose with some rose petals and lots of bright red fruit. It stayed like this for the next few days. Thus, it seems like this is not a wine to be opened now. I would give it a few years.
