  • Deep straw color, giving me a suspicion of oxidation. But, luckily!, this wine is just perfect. Quite closed nose at first, revealing its complexity first after having being poured into a carafe and the left for an hour to reach a higher temperature. Classic aromas of ripe citrus, lime, honeysuckle, peach as well as nuts and a woody vanilla tone. Keeps evolving in the glass. Full bodied attack, but also with a searing acidity that lifts the wine to great heights: lime, citrus, peach, pineapple dominates the mouth and the aftertaste, then there is an almost tannic tone in the finish giving an impression of a "solid" wine (in the sense "will keep well"). Very long and a bit restrained at the moment. This a serious wine that probably is five years too young, at least. The wine will probably deserve much higher score in the future. This must be grand cru quality?

  • This is just amazing. If there had been grand crus in Meursault, this would surely had been one. The colour is still is still young and light with a brilliant green hue. And the nose! It starts out with classic citrus and peach. Once the temperature increases a bit, notes of chopped walnuts emerge together with a buttery tone. The fruit -lime, apples and yellow peach - takes a secondary role, but still there. Full bodied, beautiful acidity to balance the fat fruit and nut flavours, long and fresh aftertaste where some mineral tones a-la crushed chalk emerge. Finishes with a razor sharp touch, cleanses the mouth. This wine is in it's infancy. Five more years will do wonders, and who knows what will happen after that. I guess this will earn a higher score in the future.

  • A little less powerful than is typical from Girardin from this Climat but enjoyable nonetheless

  • Expressive nose displaying deeply toned and dense yellow citrus, lemon curd, slightly unripe apple, spicy spices, a hint of flint and wet stone. Excellent concentration, slightly coiled dense yellow fruit, rich yet focused and chiseled, bright acidity, strong mineral and a long dense yellow fruit driven finish. It will reach a peak in another decade. No sign of premox.

  • Pop and pour, very fat and dense nose displaying ripe yellow orchard fruit, sweet spices, a hint of flint, vanilla and crushed rocks. Very good concentration, packed yellow fruit, strong dry extract, good acidity, strong mineral and medium to long yellow fruit and mineral driven finish. Next day, greater detail, balance and purity, the fruit expression become more white. I highly recommend a few hours of decanting. Excellent showing.
