  • Base neck fill. Excellent cork. Clear deep blood-ruby-brick red. Evolved savory bouquet of game, tobacco, camphor, plum, and scorched earth. Medium bodied, mellow, seamless, with tart red fruit still hanging in there. Better than a previous bottle. Cooler serving temperature helps this wine. Held up nicely after 24 hours under vacuum stopper.

  • "Estate Bottled." Base neck fill. Capsule and cork in perfect condition. Poured and tasted. Clear, deep blood-ruby-garnet. Aromas and flavors of saddle soap, fennel, au jus viande, and stewed red fruit. Has that "generic old red wine" quality -- it reminds me of a 1973 gran reserva tempranillo tasted recently. The fact that this wine is drinkable at all, not to mention enjoyable, comes as a delightful surprise.
