  It was pleasant and it drank well. There was a hint or two of something interesting lurking, but never quite materialized. I'd say there are slightly better values out there for the price.

  Medium purple. Expressive nose of red fruit, some dark fruit, spiced oak, very fruity. Enters the palate lively and fresh, not very deep but really pleasant and fresh. This is not a grand CDP but a very well made, balanced offering for everyday consumption. Really lovely given the vintage. Nothing forced here.

  This Chapoutier CDP label was being poured at Dorothy Lane Market, Springboro, OH, today, and offered for sale for $55/750 ml.
  
  This wine reminded me quite a bit of the 2007 release that I had at a restaurant in Tipp City, OH with our friends the Wackers The current release is medium-colored and styled for the up-level restaurant trade, with emphasis on Kirschwasser and tar notes from a gooodly dollop of Grenache, but with quite a bit of depth; not obviouslly dominated by new oak at all. It has a somewhat lissome mouth feel and delicate, ripe tannins that are quite inobtrusive, and blossoms in complexity as it airs. An early bloomer, but will hold a few years. Drink now-2023.

  Chateauneuf menos sofisticado. Límpido, vermelho intenso e com bastante lágrimas. No nariz e simplesmente frutas vermelhas com um álcool atrapalhando apesar de meia hora já no copo. Na boca surpreende, persistente, morango silvestre e framboesa com leve toque de defumados, boa maturidade, bastante corpo e surpreendente final, deixando a boca com o sinal de quero mais. Harmonia e equilíbrio adequados. Ótimo vinho!
