A second bottle shows similarly, generally, but more bright fruit and less earth. There is certainly some bottle variation, with some tending toward a more earthy, gritty version (which is my preference).

For a ridiculously cheap ($9) wine, this certainly shows great improvement eight years later and likely has several more years ahead of it. Earth, vanilla, red berry on the nose. Rich mouthfeel, with good tannin, and medium-plus sour berry acidity. Earthy. Good.

Russk. Got a little bit better over time. 89 points on day 1 moving to 90 points on day 4.

Crunchy red fruit, earth, lots of oak character (vanilla, dill, oak tannin). Nice structure, but somewhat drying tannin. Good.
