  After drinking Sangiovese for the past 5 days, it was time to mix it up and pop open a bottle of Barbaresco. This is a beast... love the nose and even the grippy tannic finish once paired with food. Lots of sediment so I recommend decanting both to eliminate the sediment and aerate. While I enjoyed this wine, I would not have liked it as much if it were not paired with food.

  Consumed over 2 days. Remarkably no decline the second day. This has a stunning nose. So complex and much going on. The initial palate is missing a bit of fruit. Think that is do to the heat ofbthw vintage. But the finest part is the long finish which for a Barbaresco is quite massive. That’s part the producer’s style and part the hit vintage. But the finish here is truly remarkable which absolutely makes up for anything else.

  Earthy, plum, white pepper, leather, cherry, astringent, lovely effort. Really enjoyable. Unctious. Rich. Meaty and roasted. Great effort.

  An outstanding Barbaresco. A long finish. I was getting some tart cherry and pepper. Still has lots of oak. I will wait at least another couple years before having my other bottle.
