What a disappointment. Second bottle. Waited and waited for the fruit to show -- believed it was in there somewhere, but finally concluded it was gone.

Opened three hours, decanted 30 minutes. Small amount of dust.
On nose and palate it’s clear why they label this “syrah “ rather than “shiraz”. No eucalyptus, sweetish blackcurrant only evident on finish, more savoury pepper and acidity in mid-palate than the traditional Oz offering
Very enjoyable

Deep hues of ruby along with a hint of age- a garnet edge. The nose has lovely, pronounced aromas of black plum, blackcurrant, licorice, vanilla, blackberry jam, cedar and spice box. The palate is dry with medium acidity and well-melded tannins that are grippy yet unobtrusive. The rich, ripe black fruit flavors dominate but I get some charred oak, black tea, licorice and spices in this full bodied beaut. It flows seamlessly to a somewhat tart and slightly tannic finish that lasts a good 20 seconds. I really like this winery, they produce enjoyable wines that age well. This one will keep going until 2030 at the earliest and pair well with grilled meats, rich stews and wild game. 93 points from me for this $40 wine makes it a 5 star effort.

Initial nose was acidic and dark red fruit. Wild herbs, a little mint, later after some decanting there was cola.
Very intense taste of tart berries. A little pepper in the middle. nice tannins at the front long tart finish.
Intensely fruity without being sweet. Savory notes appear after on the pallette after about 1 hour in the decanter
Excellent
