"2015" Sydney International Wine Show - stewarding notes; 10/11/2014-10/16/2014 (Blue Mountains, NSW): {screwcap, 14.5%} Remarkably good given the vintage, this has sweet vanilla bean aromas with cabernet leaf and French oak in the background. It has fresh medium acid, and low level gritty tannins; there are curranty fruit flavours and it’s a lot less herbal than the nose hinted. Medium-bodied and dry, although the diffuse medium length finish has a touch of hollowness that says this is a drink soon proposition.

Red Wine Gala Tasting (VC Double Bay): Blackcurrant, cocoa and smoke. Tannins are high quality and provide good grip. The fruit is restrained but it isn't thin. Finely balanced, this is rather approachable even with the tannin and I think a fine effort for the vintage. Drink over the medium term as I don't think it'll be a long ageing proposition.

A good wine. Drinking really well at the moment. Probably at its peak now but still has a few good 2-3 years left in it. Opened up well after an hour.
