52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Malbec, 19% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc Dense ruby with garnet rim. Black currant, tobacco and cedar on the nose. On the palate the fruit comes forward more, but there is also a savoury herbal element, bay and tomato leaf. Tannins are still very much present, but soft and powdery. Very long and moreish. A really lovely wine.

UK Group with Greg Sherwood; 10/28/2014-10/29/2014 (Western Cape Cellars): Planted in 1997 the debut vintage was 2003 despite making a 2002. Owned 50% Zelma Long; 50% by Mike Radcliffe. 2012 is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, and 29% Malbec. Mid-plus black-purple colour. Classic graphite, blackcurrant of cabernet join black pepper, liquorice, caramel and melted dark chocolate. Touch earth and spice add complexity. Certainly an intense, gorgeous, open-fruited character but perhaps with a hint of an oxidative note. A powerful broad-shouldered full-bodied wine, wonderfully concentrated and brim-full of ripe sweet fruits: blackcurrant join mulberry and raspberry, spice, caramel and chocolate. Showing well now the tannins are svelte and the wine has lovely depth to it, with the 14% alc seamlessly integrated. It still needs more time to show itself, but it has fabulous structure and the wood is already integrating. Ambitious but carried out superbly.

2 hour decant through Rabbit. Lovely, soft wine, extremely drinkable. Delicate and resolved. Delicious. No need to wait.
