Normally, I am a big fan of the Forchini cab and think it is quite elegant and a good value. Unfortunately two of the 2011s I have tried have been too "barnyard" for me. I was hoping it was a fluke with the one bottle but sadly it seems to be all of them.

Mostly same as 2/2/16, a little more complexity merits an extra point. This was our 2/2/16 review: Split decision - spouse liked this a lot more than I did. It was varietally correct, very fully-extracted (added: especially for a Sonoma Cab) I thought there were hints of prunes and almost tasted like a port. I can't explain beyond that, although I would say in its favor it tasted of the Italian style of wine-making you used to find everywhere in Sonoma (such as Simi when it was owned by the Simi family). Spouse would probably rate it a 90 and wants me to buy more. Think we pay in the low to mid 20's. I just find the very fully-extracted style to sometimes hide the complexity and varietal character of the wine and to some degree that was the case there. My spouse and I agree to disagree.

We were surprised at how good this was at the winery and have dunce shared with fellow wine lovers. It hit high marks for taste and value. Fruit forward wine with good depth.
