  I am giving this a bit of a higher score given its performance in an otherwise lackluster year. Probably more of an 89-90 if it were to be shown in a better year. This wine is darker than I remember - dark cherry and blackberry. There is some oak here, but I'm glad to say that Merryvale didn't overuse it to hide any annual imperfection. It's ready to drink, I'm not sure I would hold it much longer, definitely more refined on day 2. Can probably grab a bottle for cheap and it's ready to go.
