Interesting nuances from bottle age include that struck-match flintiness, and a very Chablis-like oyster shell minerality along with the lime peel and white grapefruit. Probably at peak but wouldn't be surprised if this carried on for another 2-3 years.

Dog Point sauvignon is a favourite of mine and I think we drank this last bottle of my 2014 at the perfect time. It had a lovely golden colour, the nose and palate showing lime and a hint of tropical fruit and it slipped down really well. I think Dog Point keeps exceptionally well for 3-4 years from the vintage, although I think it would still be drinking well in another 3-4 years. But why wait when it is so good now?

Dog Point is a favourite of mine and I was not disappointed. There is plenty to please the NZ sauvignon lover and this has that extra level of class and refinement. Gold colour, grassy nose, great acidity and balance, with all the signs that this is perfect now. Luckily I have one more bottle of this vintage.

Pale straw color - almost colorless really. Strong intense aromas of mostly vegetal aromas - bell pepper/grass/ cat pee, but with underlying tropical/ grapefruit aromas. Medium palate with nice acidity and medium finish. I like SB as a rule and my wife and I drink a lot of it, but this really is not my cup of tea. Seems aromas are almost too intense and doesn't really have that minerality that I find even in other NZ SB
