  • Tannins are a little harsh and unripe. Still decent to drink with food and a decent value. Though it is definitely past the drinking window. 85

Day 2: Surprisingly it is better the second day. Some of the harshness went away, though it thinned out a little. Overall a few points better.

  • This was surprisingly preasant, with nose of mineral, and tobacco. Palate dominated by fig, tar, and dark plum, with plenty of cigarbox. Finish was moderate. Great QTP ratio.

  • Medium tannins, easy drinking every day red wine. Somewhat of an rubbing alcohol aftertaste and seemed a bit unbalanced.

  • The color shows no signs of aging, but the nose shows a bit of unintegrated oak and alcohol. There's plenty of lipsmacking red fruit nicely offset by acid and grip. The finish is clean, but somewhat short. Opened at cellar temperature, the wine got worse with acclimation, finishing at an 84. A decent drink and not fading, but that also doesn't mean it's worth the cellar space.
