Gorgeous mature nose is initially dominated by leather, but with about an hour of air the fruit has emerged, beautiful raspberry, rhubarb, cherry. The palate is a little lighter than the nose would suggest, but a delightful wine and definitely in a good place. I doubt there is more improvement to be has with further aging, though it isn't about to fall off a cliff.

A bit of a more serious beaujolais with some roast chicken tonight, moulin-a-vent is one of the gamays that will take a bit of age, good quality cork. High acid, needed a 1.5 hour resting before serving (in the bottle), bouquet of red fruit, can smell the oak, bit of earthyness to it. Went down very smooth, cherry at first followed by the oak - vanilla, tobacco and then the earthyness comes in with some leathery, mushroomy flavours. Pretty light bodied and a bit thin, tasted older than its 8 years, nice solid not fruit forward gamay.

On the nose red fruit - rasberry, red cherry, cranberry
secondary notes of smoke, cedar, leather and earthy notes
In the mouth high acidity, low tannins and medium boy.
Great Cru Beaujolais, easy to drink but complex enough to keep you entertained.

Showing some maturity with earthy notes, a bit spice as well as dried red fruit. + for the maturity and complex nose, not amazing though.
