  I thought it was a decent showing for a less than perfect vintage, but the cork didnt match the bottle and I think I might have had a counterfeit.

  Wines Enjoyed at John Kapon's 50th Birthday Bash (The Pool - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Seriously Old School style for Gaja. Dense and powerful, even if slightly awkward structure, but very good length.

  I double decanted and served in 2.5 hours. The best bottle so far this time. Pale cloudy brick red color, expensive and expressive nose of floral and herbs, smooth palate but still had catchy tannin, sour fruits after taste.

  CC Bday Wine Dinner 2020!: Black fruits, red fruits, spices, figs, tobacco. Great aromatic nose. Complex and vibrant. Couldn't have guessed this was a 1986 and frankly quite mindblown after knowing it is a 1986 barbaresco. One of my top 3 for the night!

  Acker 200; 2/7/2020-2/8/2020 (The Pool & Cipriani): What surprised me the most about this wine was how sweet it is. It's got tons of fruit and maybe just this suggestion of oak that at this point has converted into more of a vanilla sweetness. Despite that and that not really being my favorite style I found this enjoyable.
