Our 1st Alexana chardonnay - enjoyed at Bonterra in Charlotte courtesy of Tim Wallace of the Wine Vault. Very nice but at the average CT price point reasonable but not particularly good QPR wine. Sleeker and more minerally / definitely less oaked then many typical CA chards - the Willamette Valley roots come through nicely. Well structured, reasonable aftertaste, enough acid and backbone left for at least 2-3 years of proper cellaring but not built for the long haul. Crisp acidic nose of white peach, green pear and hint of citrus with a pleasant and rounder / warmer balanced flavor profile of present but pretty minimal oak, red apple, plum and vanilla notes. Recommend this wine.
