Had a bottle in an Italian restaurant with three other friends. Paired well with all entrees. Dark rich unctuous flavors, perfectly balanced. Mostly Petite Syrah and Syrah. Light to medium tannins, and medium finish. Excellent QPR for $16 retail.

A nose of some dark fruit and spice and heat, dark purple in color-A medium to full bodied red blend, with blackberry, black cherry, licorice and spices on finish, needs a decant to blow off alcohol, a great value at discounted price. www.winelx.com

Not at all your typical GSM as the P represents 50 % and adds its considerable character to the wine. Dulcie latched on to this at Standard Market (attracted by the screw cap perhaps?). Brilliant ruby red, notable acid is prominent, but so is abundant ripe fruit, well structured. Definitely a good buy.

Tasty ramble, smoke, cherry, and enough tannic structure to make it quite nice. Not the most easygoing wine, but I quite enjoyed it as a pre-dinner drinker.

Rhone Rangers DC (Longview Gallery - Washington, DC): Tart yet jammy, like fruit-roll-up candy and candied cherries. Soft tannins, nutty, licorice.
