Brought by a friend to a Meursault dinner; closed with a Diam cork. This was good and very much Charmes in style; rich and opulent with floral notes and super ripe fruit; richer and a bit fatter than the Perrieres next to it; some classic hazelnut notes with air; this gained energy and tension with air and was still improving on the last glass.

Popped and poured, then left open in the fridge overnight. Not liking this overmuch, certainly not at $80, which is what I paid for this in 2017. Bright, vibrant yellow. Nose seems odd, with lemon oil and lime at the fore. Very tart, lots of acidity, and little more than unimpressive citrus fruit in the mouth. Shocking for such a normally reliable producer. I've properly cellared this for 4+ years; should I have waited? Might it have gotten better? Time will tell for others, but not me. 4-11-13-6: 84/100.

Moderate lemon, butterscotch, lemon, smoke and brioche on the nose, round lemon fruit on the attack with buttery lemon rind, juicy acidity, powdery crystalline tannins, steely finish with green apple, tart lemon, hints of almond paste, wood and lingering flint notes

Not great. Very little on the nose, thin body.
