  • Dry, light, incisive, chalky, some peach and strawberry, some breadth -- a pleasing wine and showing better than I expected; would seem to be at its peak. Cellared since original release.

  • When it is straight out of bottle, the acidity is quite overwhelmingly high. Intense lime and tangy flavours are all over the place, with a slight hint of smoke and petrol.

After 1 hour of aeration, lovely flavours of peach, pear, melon, tropical (can't tell them apart), white flowers, jasmine flavours start to develop. I am surprised by how well the flavours integrate. They are nicely balanced by high acidity and supplemented by rich / slightly creamy mouthfeel. The finish is persistent but not overpowering, with slightly sweet aftertaste. It's a very graceful and elegant wine!

It might not be the kind of GG I was expecting (especially the unexpectedly sweet aftertaste). But I am sure it's a good crowd pleaser.

  • My first experience with this wine and now I wish I had not been so timid with the purchase quantity when I had the chance. . .quite satisfying to drink a wine so focused and delicious. Lovely bottle.
