I have drunk the best part of two 6 bottle cases over the last couple of years. A very charming Beaune 1er Cru, that has notably improved over the last couple of years and will last for - I would wager another 10, without problem. Nice depth of flavour from the vintage, but elegant rather than powerful, and maybe more red than black fruits, but it has both and increasingly the additional complexity of age showing. Glad to have some more in storage, and will make an effort with an attempt at a more descriptive note with the next one. (N.b. I am not drinking at the very highest level, either producer or vineyard, but I don't understand the complaint that the 2005s are still closed, backward & tannic -I have had numerous respectable village & 1er Crus from the CdN & CdB over the last 4 or 5 years that have never failed to charm)

Beautiful red brick colour. Large bq w cherries, strawberries, minerals, sous-bois, touch of oak. Medium body w sandy tannins, very nice acidity, cherry fruit (slightly drying). Long aftertaste , fruity but a bit adstringent. Won't get any better, but very nice now.

Ripe red fruits, lovely cherry, perfumy notes, strawberry, pine, sap, roses, quite exotic--thought it was a Vosne. Excellent right now and will hold for another 5+. Very surprised this was Beaune. Blind at Brian's.

This is lovely. Great fruit on palette, nose more subdued.
