Another excellent Cab out of Saddleback! Dark purple throughout with dark cherry, cedar, tobacco and a mineral mouthfeel. Almost elegant, with smooth tannins on the finish. I usually like my Napa cabs a little edgier but there was nothing wrong with this.

First of the reds from Saddleback Cellars. Deep and dark ruby red with garnet edges. Lots of layers on the nose. Starting off with damp earthy notes and leaves. Followed up with some mushrooms and truffles. Slight smokey undertones as well as some plums. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Definitely seemed older than it is. Some greenery and bell peppers on the palate with some dark fruits and slightly savory undertones too. Long and lingering finish. So complex and layered from the nose all the way through the palate. Rustic in style and not overly fruity but definitely in the undertones. Drink till 2026.
