  • Nose a bit light for an auslese, but predominantly rubber tires, lemon curd, and saline/mineral notes. Palate predominantly lemon curd; the flavors are full, but is not at all cloying given the veiny, mineral-laden acidity. There's a nice touch of quince and lemon-rind bitterness that comes off at the end that offsets the initial sweetness of the wine. Finish lingers, yet feels weightless on the palate.

Rich and full, but with the footprint of a light spatlese or a heavy kabinett on the palate due to the nice acidity. Great balance and never felt fatigued drinking the wine as you sometimes get drinking a really rich auslese.
