  • The ‘Chryseia project’ (1998) is a joint partnership in the Douro Valley between the Symington Family Estates (Porto) and Bruno Prats (Château Cos d'Estournel / Bordeaux). The ‘Post Scriptum’ is the second wine of the famous Chryseia cru. Varietal composition: 53 % Touriga Franca, 45 % Touriga Nacional and 2 % others (the composition varies from year to year). Maturation: 13 months in French oak barrels (400 liters). Decanted: two hours prior to tasting. Color: dark ruby-red. Bouquet: intense nose with notes of violets, plums, cedar and traces of clove and pepper. On the palate: a well-structured, quite powerful wine displaying ripe black fruit, still quite firm tannins and a good underpinning acidity. Long, slightly drying aftertaste. Agreeable drinking now ; could even get better over the next 2-4 years.

Rijping: 12 maanden in Franse eiken vaten (400 liter). Gedecanteerd: twee uur vóór consumptie. Kleur: donker robijnrood.

  • Silky smooth tannins, enjoyed with venison. Good length and a very well made sophisticated wine

  • Delicious. Liked this wine. Very nice paired with steaks and blue cheese salad. Dark fruits, hint of oak, and hint of caramel.

  • Fleming's 100 Tasting Event 2015. Nose of black fruit, dusty earth, currants, and leather, more of the same on the palate, medium/big body, touch simple and subdued, smooth tasting, a long finish. 53% Touriga Franca, 45% Touriga Nacional, 2% other fruit.

  • The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of strawberry, red plums, dark cherry, vanilla, cedar and hints of violets.

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(+) well-integrated acidity. It has medium(+) fine-grained tannins. It has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours. The finish is long.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and a perfect balance between all structural elements. The nose is elegant and shows complexity provided by oak ageing, however not enough to be considered outstanding.

The wine is too young to drink now. It has a very firm tannic and acidic structure and will benefit from a couple of years of cellaring, it has a cellaring potential of 7-10 years.
