Opened and decanted for an hour before drinking - impressive wine. Was very surprised when I started to decant by the color - still a very dark red with absolutely no bricking. Threw off a fair amount of sediment.
Drinking really well now with plenty of fruit, a bit of smoke and leather as well as some cedar and vanilla. Ripe tannins. Great now and would guess it is in the beginning of it's prime with another 10 years of great life left.
PnP enjoyed at a CT offline. Not showing any age, but seems to be missing some of its reflective brilliance (which could easily have been due to the less than ideal lighting). The nose seems to match the palate quite well, with slightly above-average complexity and appeal. As expected, seamless on the palate with just signature curl of sweet, ripe tannins. No doubt some more (needed, interesting) tertiary development is but a year or two away. A very nice bottle, but not a wow bottle. 14,5% abv, drink thru 2020
