Entering a nice spot, as many 2013 1ers seem to be. Forward strawberry and red cherry aromas with nice spice and earth subtlety. The palate is a bit lean at first, but picks up some flesh and weight. Still on the primary side, flavor wise, but the subtleties are starting to take shape. I'll drink my 2013s too soon, rather than too late, as I worry about the fruit fading. No risk to hold for another 5 years here.

Light floral nose. Fairly high acidity level. ABV 13.5% with no trace of alcohol. Decent drink but lacks the concentration and length of ‘09 or ‘10 vintages, good but not the best vintage of this wine.

P&P. Clear, pale ruby. The nose was just a little shy, though still showing, with crunchy red fruits (raspberry, cherry) and earth, along with a little sweet herb. On the other hand this was taut and tight on the palate, with a medium body and surprisingly faint tannins for its youth. The cleanliness and purity are there, but it seems somewhat closed now. Hold for a few more years at least before revisiting.

Delicious. Very Chambolle in character. Lovely cherry fruit. Light on its feet. Some sappy notes. Long finish. I am a fan of Bertheau!
