1 hour decant, 60 F. Rich garnet color. Eucalyptus, earth, smoke and subdued black fruits and acetone on the nose. Lovely round tannins contributing to a velvety mouthfeel, gradually evolving to a silkier texture. Oak and alcohol are well-integrated and help hide the kick this wine has waiting. Lively acidity contributes to a well-structured wine. Blackberry and plum on the palate, with mint notes, a slight pleasant bitterness on the mid-palate and notes of graphite, blueberry and dark chocolate. Long finish with a slight drying grip. Probably at its peak, but still has a few years left. Great QPR.

This is still young. After a 2 hour decant on the first day the tanin structure was still apparent and marring the tasting experience. About 2/3 of the bottle sat corked at 74 degrees for a day. When retried, the fruit, dark current was much more prominent. The tanin was milder but still present in the finish.....This wil improve for at least 5 years.

Strong dark berry nose. Initial taste is quite tight needs to open up. Strong acid with dark berry flavors. Probably shouldn't age much longer, but it is not past due yet. Bit on the jammy side for my taste. I think it opened up a lot after being open a few hours.

Rated at number one among group of 7 participants. But that's because there were no stellar wines tonight. My advise is to decant 2 to 3 hours before serving. Not much body and muted flavors.
