  • Short decant after pulling from the cellar. Served at about 60 F. Medium garnet color, slightest bit of bricking. Nose of chocolate covered cherry, a hint of acetone and smoke. Sour cherry, plum and dried raspberry fruit on the palate, notes of graphite and fig. Initially a slight glycerin quality on the palate that faded as the wine received a little air/heat. Lush silky to velvety body, lengthy finish. Balanced acidity and well-integrated alcohol. The wine was still evolving as we finished the bottle, and left us looking for more. This wine still has some time left. Alcohol very conservatively listed at 14.5. May try and track some more down, looking forward to trying a few of the higher end CdPs from this winery presently resting in the cellar.
