  Well here we are 5 years later. Decanted 90 mins ahead off of light sediment. Very deep inky garnet color with a brickish tinge. Nice nose of oak, tobacco, black plum compote and earth tones, still a bit closed. Rich & full on the palate as befits PS but with elegant flavors. Acid balance is still firm. Respectable, I call it. Good finish with light but coating powdery tannins, more black fruit, hooded over with cedar. A very fine bottle which could def. still go longer but alas I don’t have any more.

  Decanted 1 hr. ahead and sampled for the next hour. Very deep red-garnet color. Nice but shy nose of blackberries, cherries, black pepper, and some interesting bramble. Rich and meaty on the palate, with a slightly thick texture. Black-fruit flavors lead over coffee tones. Finishes well, with moderate grip and coating but light tannins. There is a certain amount of deliciousness here which I think would emerge more fully with a few years in the bottle. I am going to salt one away and see what happens.
