  • Fresh floral nose with a hint of apple. On the palate it's of medium weight with pleasing acidity, but silky smooth too. There is a hint of sweetness, but this dissipates after the first glass. Very elegant, but not particularly complex. Fine for drinking as an aperitif, but not really sturdy enough to cope with food unless it's fairly 'bland', such as a simple pan-fried white fish or scallops.

It's well into its drinking window and suspect there is little point in keeping much longer. Whilst I enjoyed this, it's not remotely worth the price that's up around the £100 mark. You can buy some pretty impressive Champagne at half the price.

  • Nose: The nose is fresh, but with a refined sense and lots of depth with ginger, mint, spiced pear, melons, red apples, floral tones, brioche, mineral tones, and quince. This is in that perfect intersection of starting to mature along with youth to it.

Taste: Full bodied with balanced, high acidity. The feel is silken and deep with ginger, mint, quince, brioche, spiced pears, red apples, minerals, and melon notes.

Overall: This Is wonderful and in a beautiful place right now. It is well balanced, deep, and elegant with a lot of class and poise. I have a hard time seeing this get better, but it should easily hold for another 3-5+ years.

  • The !*&#show (Spring (Downtown Los Angeles)): Like carbonated fruit loops at first, but settles into something much more interesting. Loads of ripe strawberry, baked bread, and a hint of honey. Good acidity, and refreshing finish.

  • WTDS at Tilia: Rhones Among Others (3/2/17): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 60 minutes. I found this quite intriguing and rather compelling initially. There was a lot structure and depth that the pinot fruit brought forth. Lots of deep citrus and citrus zest with a strong backbone and hints of red fruits. As it sat it seemed to lose some of that taughtness that made it more riveting initially. Very good. 92+pts.
