Tasted from MAG. This was singing tonight. Beautiful, elegant nose of minerals and red fruit. Palate was a seamless medium bodied laser beam of graphite and pencil lead coupled with stony red fruit. Really drinking at peak in the large format and could probably hold at this point for several more years. Happy 40th Derrik!

A very classical Bordeaux nose with some development. Dark fruit, some typical Pessac/Graves earth and truffle nose, medium body, fine acidity, softened but still present tannins. Less developed than I had expected from a second wine of the 2001 vintage. 91 p.

Regular dinner group (@ My place): In the bouquet earth, autumn, tobacco, dark forest fruits, and also good oak and cedar. On the palate the same impressions, good acidity and a touch of sweetness. Mature and soft tannin with still a little bite. Beautiful and mature wine. Drink now or the next two years.

Lovely wine of cedary bouquet. The wine is still quite dark. The color is just beginning to go to that of tile on the edge. The wine is at its peak to drink offering sophisticated cedar, wood, woodsiness, and recessed black fruit. It is a very serious effort by this great house. It is a great second label wine.

Really enjoyable. Notes of dark red fruit, tar, graphite with a smooth, integrated medium finish. Drink away!
