  • Cork disintegrated and even with the ah-so could not recover the situation. Double strained and no problem .
Musty and fruity aroma at the same time, layered and interesting but clearly showing some age. Might be a hint varnish, but easily just high tone, spice and hint chocholate.
Plum, dark berries, very smooth tannins, good acid (nice balance now, could have been a bit bright earlier in its life). Paired great with a burger and chips, the fruit lingers and the acid lends some nice freshness.
Could still be aged a bit longer.

  • This was showing it's age, but drank wonderfully. Nothing spectacular, just a v. good example of the region and an easy drinker.

  • Middleweight CdP in a good place right now. Opened up nicely after a 30 min decant. Slight amber rim, but mostly a youthful purple, throwing a small amount of fine-grained sediment. Somewhat reticent on the nose, but pleasant: dark fruits and garrigue. Equally modest on the tongue, nicely balanced, tannins mostly resolved, typical Rhone flavors, but subtle - nothing to draw attention. Seems like this can hold for several more years, but unlikely to improve much. A nice, competent accompaniment to sous vide ribeyes.

  • Decanted for an hour. Silky smooth with generous red fruit favors and a hint of wood. Long in the finish but a very refined wine.
