Quite a nice surprise. 14 experienced tasters, double blind. This one came out second of eight Northern Rhone wines, all more expensive and most quite prestigious. Very close to first place actually. Balanced European style with clear channelled complexity. Would be a very good food wine too.

Tasted blind, it has prominent barnyard nose and flavour profile along with some earthy notes. Quite surprised to learn that it is a 2011 after the label was revealed.

Drank this at a Shiraz/ Syrah themed tasting at Extra Space, Boon Keng.
Dark purple with a pungent nose. Some dark berries and barnyard notes were present.
On the palate the wine has some red fruits with acidity and a medium finish. Not very well integrated and the notes which are usually associated with Northern Rhone wines are largely absent.
Overall, the wine disappoints slightly and lacks the characteristics and complexities of a St Joseph.
